Design a continuous microfluidic flow cell for turbidimetric-flow injection technology: A new approach for routine analysis of active pharmaceutical formulations

In this study, a new flow injection analysis (FIA) based on microfluidic cell (MFC) with sample capacity of 40 µL is described. A Tungsten lamp directs light from typical 2100P Portable Turbidimeter apparatus into quartz through round sidewall aperture 2.0 mm and emerges the identical opposite side cell, where photodiode array (light detector) detects passing light. When compared to traditional cuvette (25 x 60 round) same nominal route length, technique improves sensitivity by around 4.0. This improvement due use short, narrow internal diameter microfluid as which reduces physical dispersion. The designed has been evaluated developing turbidimetric method for detection promethazine in pure form or pharmaceutical dosages. developed forming yellowish ion-pair association complex reaction sodium tetraphenylborate (STPB) an acidic medium. At optimum conditions, calibration curve (CC) LOD were obtained 0.5-90 µg mL-1 0.35 mL-1, respectively (R2 = 0.9955).
